we were in the area and needed to eat. I was hoping to find a good Sushi restaurant and II was not disappointed. I was able to get some classic sushi rolls and my guest was also able to get cooked salmon. All the food was fantastic. The people working there were excellent! Wonderful crew and they enjoyed making the best food for us.

Thank You So Much Family of Team Awesome, for opening the friendliest family restaurant for us on Thanksgiving Day! The entire family was all there for the lost individuals like us being tourists

Fortune House is one of those true neighborhood staples that you’re grateful to have nearby. It’s a small, local spot, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in heart. The owners are absolutely amazing—genuinely kind people who clearly care about their customers and about making everyone feel welcome and happy. I spent 9 years in Japan, and eating here always brings a smile to my face. The sushi selection is a bit limited, but everything is consistently fresh, well-prepared, and done right, which matters far more than having a massive menu. This place is a real local gem. We regularly order the party platter and it’s always a hit—especially when feeding our Okinawan friends, who love it every time. If you’re looking for authentic, dependable sushi made by people who truly care, Fortune House is it.

I arrived during heavy rain, and the staff treated me with genuine care, even offering extra sushi to cheer me up. They called right after my order to explain they were out of the ice cream I picked, which I didn’t mind at all. Everyone was incredibly kind, and the service felt warm and thoughtful. I strongly recommend visiting this place!

I got used to eating fresh sushi in Japan and was looking for a sushi restaurant in Virginia. This was exactly what I was looking for. Fresh, clean, and generous. They have a wide variety of other food for those who do not eat sashimi or seafood as well. Not the largest restaurant, though it is worth waiting if it is packed (it wasn't packed for us). The owners are extremely kind and welcoming, creating an environment that felt like home. 10/10 would recommend and will come back again.
